Miracle Worker
Jesus performed lots of miracles (extraordinary events in the physical world that surpass all known human or natural powers - Dictionary.com). The four Gospels record that Jesus fed thousands, cast out demons, healed the sick and handicapped, controlled nature and animals, and raised the dead. The Apostle John said all the books in the world could not contain everything Jesus did during his brief time on earth (John 21:25).
Jesus performed miracles to show He is the Messiah and the Son of God. He performed miracles to show he is the Lord over all creation. Jesus performed miracles to draw people to His message and mission. Jesus did miracles to show His great compassion for people and His ability to make their lives better. And Jesus performed miracles to give people a glimpse of the future when he makes all things new (Revelation 21 & 22).
This summer, we are going to examine some of Jesus’ greatest miracles. This message series will not only help you know Jesus better, but it will help you trust the Miracle Worker with every part of your life! “The disciples saw Jesus do many other miraculous signs in addition to the ones recorded in this book. But these are written so that you may continue to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing in him you will have life by the power of his name.” John 20:30–31, NLT
