Simon Says

The question you should be asking yourself today is not, “Will I suffer?” For, suffering is inevitable. It makes no difference how much money you have in the bank, or what position you hold in society, or how well you take care of yourself. You will suffer in some way at some time in your life because you are a fallen person living on a fallen world. The question you should be asking yourself today is, “How will I respond to suffering?” For, suffering will either make you a better person or a bitter person. How you respond to suffering determines the result.

This spring, we’re going to examine Peter’s first epistle to learn how to courageously conduct ourselves during suffering. In 1st Peter, Simon shows us how to endure suffering by resting in our living hope, trusting that there is a divine purpose behind suffering, and standing firm in the grace of God. Over the next twelve weeks I encourage you to listen to what Simon says so you know how to suffer well.
