I was told in my freshman year of college that God speaks to us through the Bible, and we speak to Him through prayer. If this is true, and I think it is, it means a person needs to both study the Bible and pray to completely communicate with God. Through the Word, we learn the will of God, and through prayer we petition our Creator for our needs and desires. Together, Bible study and prayer keep us focused and dependent on the Lord.
This January / February, I’m going to teach you a way to increase the quality of your Bible study and prayer by combining the two disciplines into a single action. In our Powerful Prayers message series, I will show you how the great men and women in the Bible prayed, then how to use their prayers to form your own powerful prayers.
