Blueprint

Near the end of his life, the Apostle Paul wrote two letters of instruction to his young disciple, Timothy. As the Lead Pastor of the Christian church in Ephesus, Timothy needed to know how to combat false teaching with sound doctrine, develop qualified church leaders, teach God’s Word, and encourage Christian conduct. 1 st & 2 nd Timothy (along with Titus) are called the “Pastoral Epistles" because they show pastors what they must do to have a good, godly church.

This fall, we are going to examine Paul’s letters to Timothy to learn what we need to change or improve at Bay Farm Church. We do not want to base our church on man-made doctrine, traditions, or rituals; we want to use Christ’s design to build a healthy church.

“I am writing these things to you now, even though I hope to be with you soon so that if I am delayed, you will know how people must conduct themselves in the household of God. This is the church of the living God, which is the pillar and foundation of the truth.” (1 Timothy 3:14–15, NLT)
