In 1843, Charles Dickens wrote a 66-page novella to open the hearts of the prosperous and powerful towards the poor and powerless. Dickens called the little book A Christmas Carol and listed its five chapters as stanzas because he wanted it to spread joy just as Christmas carols spread joy each season. Dickens’ little Christmas ghost story was an instant bestseller in England and in the United States and became his most popular novel.
This December, I’m going to use Charles Dickens’ bestseller and God’s bestseller (the Bible) to teach you four valuable life lessons. I encourage you to listen to the spirits this month (Dickens’ four fictional spirits & the Holy Spirit) and learn how to make the most of your life. “A merry Christmas to us all.
